Una Taylor Hayes, 90, of New Bern, passed away on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living Center.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Una was born on November 17, 1932, in West Columbia, South Carolina, to the late John and Rosa Taylor. Una was a beloved member of the community who embraced life with a spirit of adventure. Her membership in the Red Hat Society brought her immense joy, providing her with treasured friendships and unforgettable memories. Traveling the world was a true passion of Una’s, she loved embarking on many journeys.

Her garden is where she found solace and contentment. Una’s green thumb transformed her outdoor space into a beautiful sanctuary. She was a devoted member of Cherry Point Baptist Church where she loved worshipping the Lord. Beyond her many passions, she cherished her family above all. She held dear the moments spent together with her precious family. Let us honor her memory by embracing life with the same zest, curiosity, and love that she embodied.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred Hayes, son, Keith Holder; sister, Dorothy Locke; brothers, Herman Taylor, Clyde Taylor, and Cromer Taylor.
