Rosa Cappa-Batista

Rosa Cappa-Batista, 67, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Carolina East Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life Service will be planned at a later date.

Rosa was born on September 9, 1955, in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, to the late Ramon and Antonia Cappa. She was born with a creative spirit and found joy in working with her hands. She embraced all types of crafts with enthusiasm and a keen eye for detail. Her nurturing nature shone brightly when she spent time with the children in her church choir in Puerto Rico. Her presence and patience created a safe haven where children felt valued and cherished.

Rosa had a playful side that came alive during spirited games of dominoes. Her love for adventure and exploring new horizons led her to travel far and wide. She leaves behind memories woven with love, laughter, and inspiration. Rosa will forever remain in our hearts.

Those left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Rose Mary Martin of Havelock; sons, Jonathan Garcia of California, and Kenneth Garcia (Susana Torres) of California; brother, Saul Cappa of Puerto Rico; grandchildren, Rosalinda Garcia, Victoria Garcia, Jonathan Garcia Jr., Isaac Garcia, Zahydie Martin, Jennifer Martin, Roger N. Martin Jr., and Chloe L. Garcia; and great- grandchildren, Lorelai Vines and Finn Allison.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Eneida Cappa, Lucy Cappa; brothers, Ramon Cappa, Juan Cappa, and Adalberto Cappa; and son-in-law, Roger Martin.
