Obituary
Rodney Allen White, 74, of Arapahoe, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Carolina East Medical Center.
He was born on September 2, 1948, in Effingham, Illinois. Rodney moved with his family to Winston-Salem, NC, while still in school. He graduated from Parkland High School in 1967, joined the Air force, and was stationed at Pope Air Force Base in Fayetteville, NC.
After the service he married Sandra White, and they had three children. He worked as a tree climber for Davey Tree, advancing to Tree Surgery Crew leader before opening his own tree business. He became disabled due to an injury sustained while in the service and retired to Arapahoe.
He is survived by his son and daughter, who both earned their Ph.D.’s in ecology, and his three grandchildren who he loved dearly. He had an angelic singing voice and will love singing with the angels.
