Kevin Brian Kilgore

September 7, 1954 — June 24, 2022

Ohio

Kevin Brian Kilgore, age 67, of Hinckley, Ohio, peacefully exited this life on June 24, 2022, in the company of his children, after a brief illness.

Kevin came into this world on September 7, 1954, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Herbert “Lee” Kilgore and Bundy Grekco. He spent his childhood in Florida, being raised in the sun and saltwater, before relocating to Ohio while still in his youth.

Kevin had many passions in life, and one of his earliest was wrestling. His love for the sport began in the 8th grade and continued all the way to his senior year of high school. The discipline and training he endured early molded him into the man he became later in life. His passion and tradition for wrestling continued as he coached his son from a very young age as well.

As a young man, Kevin recognized his talent to build and fix things, and he began a career with his father in the family business, L+K Construction. After the passing of his father, he successfully continued the business, making innumerable friends along the way. Kevin, a highly skilled craftsman, was no stranger to hard work or to getting his hands dirty, and trait that he passed along to both his children.

As everyone is probably aware, Kevin lived his life for hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. If he wasn’t at work, you could probably find him on his boat walleye fishing on Lake Erie or wrestling a grouper off the reef in the Atlantic Ocean off North Carolina. He also spent countless hours in the woods and considered this to be a second home. His children will always be thankful for their exposure to the outdoors from a young age and could not imagine a better upbringing.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Lee Kilgore; mother, Bundy Grekco; and sister, Lisa Kilgore.

He will be sorely missed but lovingly remembered by his daughter, Nicole (Jeffrey) Dobbs; son, Dustin (Abby) Kilgore; granddaughter, Kennedy Kilgore and soon to be second granddaughter; ex-wife and friend, Sharon Daszkiewycz; his partner and dear friend of many years, Susan Blair; his sisters, Kathalee (Van) Kirkendall and Leigh Ann Reser; as well as nephew, Klint Kirkendall and niece, Brandi (Josh) Hebb. He will also be missed by an army of friends, many of whom he considered to be family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, if you feel so inclined, please contribute to a charity of your choice, in his name.
