His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 20,2021, at Munden Funeral Home. Please dress casually. For those unable to attend, service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home's website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.

Kendall was born in Graham, NC on July 11, 1949, to the late Grady and Mozell Bullington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Broadway and his brothers Terry and Johnny Bullington.

He is survived by his sister, Kay Hunt of Thomasville, NC; and the love of his life, Betsy; and Kathy Linville his trusted and faithful friend. He is leaving his dogs, Jake, Zorro, and Abbey in the trusted care of his dearest friend and fishing partner Jason Yates. His love for these dogs was paramount in his life and they brought him much laughter and he wanted to make sure they would be well taken care of after he left.

As a true patriot and proud American, Kendall served 5 years in the United States Army where he bravely worked as a medic during the Vietnam War. During this time, he was stationed and served in Korea. After the service Kendall pursued various business ventures including real estate appraisal but his primary aim was to enjoy life to the fullest and this he did.

He grew up in Chatham County on a farm where they raised tobacco and even as a very small child, he was very fond of all farm animals. This love for animals continued his whole life and he fed many squirrels peanuts on the golf courses.

Kendall and his brothers and father were called the Bullington Bombers in the bowling alleys. Kendall had numerous 300-point perfect games and many said that he should entertain the idea of pro bowling. In the early 1980's he moved to Carteret County where he pursed his love of fishing and golf.

He was a master at golf and is well known at the local golf courses and loved his many friends as they all pursued their passion for golf. He has a record at the Silver Creek golf course where he shot at 63 barefooted!!

However, fishing was his very favorite thing to do, and he was known as "The Killer" because he was sure to out fish any that tried to compete with him. He enjoyed working as a galley cook on the Carolina Princess and thought highly of James "Woo Woo" Harker, the captain of that boat. He was sure to bring in huge Groupers, American reds, Tuna and Wahoo and he enjoyed it so much!! Only last month he took his last fishing trip with Jason and Kendall said that even though he threw up they just tore the fish up and it was a great trip!

Jason describes him as a mentor and great friend and that Kendall caught many fish that were greater in size than most will ever see. But the weight was never important to Kendall, just the thrill of the hunt and excitement of the catch.

He also was an excellent freshwater fisherman and loved to bass fish and trout fish both in lakes and throughout the coastal marshes. He was always trying new lures and staying ahead with the best strategy to catch and of course release these fish.

But most of all Kendall was a caring, generous, and thoughtful man and never wanting to impose on others. He described his relationship with God and Jesus that they were "partners" and knew that he was heaven bound without any uncertainty. He will be missed but never forgotten.
