Joyce Newman Smith

Joyce Newman Smith, 62, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 30­, 2019, at her home.

Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Newport, officiated by James E. Newman.

Joyce was a member of the Morehead City Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Harry “Jack” Smith, Jr. of the home; step son, Michael Smith of Newport; sisters, Shirley Miller and husband Winn of Bailey, NC and Linda Taylor and husband Terry of Albemarle, NC; brothers, James William Newman of Fayetteville, NC, Gerald Newman and wife Cindy of Wilmington, NC and Charles “Charlie” Newman and wife Jeannie of Roseboro, NC; and step-grandson, Aden Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kitty Newman and William Allison Newman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 324 McCabe Rd., Newport, NC 28570.
