John Joseph Slenzo Jr.

John Joseph Slenzo Jr., 73, of Marshallberg and formerly of Coxsackie, New York, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home.

John was born on May 12, 1948, in Catskill New York, to the late John and Lottie Slenzo. He grew up in Coxsackie where he spent most of his life working as a Corrections Officer for the State of New York.

Every winter, for the past 20 years, John came to Carteret County where he enjoyed fishing and the outdoors with his fiancé and companion, Robin Lord. They had 30 wonderful years together prior to his passing.

In addition to Robin, he is survived by her children, Amber Lord Anatriello of West Coxsackie, NY and Doug Lord of Coxsackie, NY; Robin’s grandchildren, Dakota Anatriello, Colby Lord and Chase Lord; and numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Carteret Health Care Cancer Center, 3500 Arendell St., Morehead City, NC 28557 or the Carteret Health Care Hospice, P.O. Drawer 1619, Morehead City, NC 28557.
