Jack Randall McCracken, 68, of Bogue, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 23rd, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 24th, at Carolina Memorial Gardens, Creedmoor, NC.
Jack was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on November 10, 1953, to JoAnne F. McCracken and the late Jack Ryerson McCracken.
Jack, or Randy as his family called him, was a very loyal friend, son, and brother. Everyone who was lucky enough to get to know him would tell you what a genuinely good person he was. He was generous and kind, and had a special affinity for animals, especially dogs, most of which got their belly rubs and were dubbed “Champ”. He had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed watching local track racing and NASCAR. From a very young age, Jack became interested in engines, and struck-out at the age of 19 to become a truck-driver, the career he enjoyed for the rest of his life. He will be fondly remembered, and sorely missed by all.
He is survived by his mother, JoAnne F. McCracken of the home; sisters, Deborah M. Shealy and husband Michael Jenkins of Roanoke, VA, and Tia M. Wynn and husband Randy of Wilton, NC.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Ryerson McCracken.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 728 Bogue Loop Rd., Newport, NC 28570.
