Ilse Maria (Luthens) Moehring

Ilse Maria Moehring, 93, of Hamburg, Germany, formerly of Beaufort, passed away, Wednesday,May 13, 2015 in Germany.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charley Smith officiating.

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of the co-founder of Atlantic Veneer Corporation and its associated companies in many parts of the world.

Ilse and the late K. Heinz Moehring married almost 70 years ago. They have two daughters, Sylvia and Barbara, 4 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.

Mrs. Ilse Moehring had dedicated herself to her family and was active in the operational part of the company in the USA and Brazil. Her counsel and assessment of issues was an intregate part in the decision-making process. Her opinion and wisdom was much sought after by those within the family and beyond.

She was blessed in having such a large family, especially seeing how her grandsons have become so successful in continuing the family tradition from their headquarters in Beaufort, NC. Her long, successful life filled with
adventure, devotion for her husband, the company and her family has come to an end after 93 years. We miss her and are thankful for all her generosity and love.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Handley and husband Geroge  of Atlanta, GA, and Sylvia Weygoldt and husband, Prof. Dr. Peter Weygoldt of Germany; grandchildren, Christian Weygoldt, Katharina Weygoldt,
Anna Weygoldt, Hans Weygoldt and wife Calista ; great-grandchildren, Lukas, Jadranka, Patrick,Sebastian, Luisa, Gabriel, Charlotte, Johannes, and Little Hans.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
