Howard F. Restel

Howard F. Restel, 79, of Havelock, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Crystal Coast Hospice House.

His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, presided by Chaplain Ailsa Harl. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

Howard was born on June 23, 1942, in Long Island, New York to Howard and Mildred Restel. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps for thirty years, retiring as a distinguished Sergeant Major. He later served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Howard worked at Cherry Point for twenty years and belonged to the Cherry Point Skeet Club.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Restel; daughters, Alexandra Cifarelli and husband Michael of Brick, N.J., Mary Roman and husband Justino of Brick, N.J.; grandchildren, Sarah Ragozzino and husband Louis, Ashley Avallone and husband Derrick, Travis Cifarelli, Paul Garcia and wife Jessica, Gianna Sanchez, Nicholas Sanchez, Justino Roman Jr., Amanda Crowley and husband Dillon; great grandchildren, Mason Avallone and Aubrey Crowley.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mildred Restel; along with a sister, Joan Curran.
