Obituary

Deanna May Baranczyk, 83, of Chesapeake, Virginia, and formerly of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service for Ms. Baranczyk will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, August 12, at New Bern National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., Friday, August 12, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock.

Deanna was born on August 5, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Joseph and Wanda Persick. She was a member of the Staff NCO Wives Club and had a great time playing Bunco with the Bunco ladies. She loved doing crafts and happily volunteered numerous hours with the Thrift Shop and Navy Relief.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Foster and husband John of Chesapeake, VA; brother, James Persick of Wichita Falls, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Baranczyk, Steven Foster his wife Amber, and Ashley Foster; and great grandchildren, Ashlyn, Jackson, Peyton, and Nora.

In addition to her parents, Deanna was preceded in death by her husband, Gn. Sgt. Robert Joseph Baranczyk and son, Robert Allen Baranczyk.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago IL 60601.
