Allen Ripley

Allen Ripley, 81, of Cape Carteret, passed away Monday, November 25­, 2019, at Carteret Health Care.

His memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church, officiated by Rev. Ben Burrows. The family will receive friends following the service.

Allen honorably served our country in the United States Army. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed a long career with Northern Telecom (NORTEL) where he was an engineer before his retirement in 1995. After retirement, he moved to Carteret County to be near the water and to enjoy his golden years.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ripley of the home; daughters, Dawn Wooten and husband Melvin of Fuquay Varina and Teresa Carter of Wake Forest; son, Eddie Paul and wife Darlene of Lake Royal; grandchildren, Grace Wooten, Sherry DiMille and Brittany Williams; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Riley and Kaley; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Katherine Ripley; and sister, Barbara King.
