I knew Robert "Bob" in high school before he went into the Marine Corps
(dated him my junior year). I heard the news this evening about his passing. My prayers goes out to your whole Family and his children. The strength of God's love and open arms will provide the comfort you need. God Bless.

I went to high school with Bob. He was a fun loving guy who enjoyed life. Hearing this news has hurt my heart and I grieve for his family. Viewing his pictures here, I see that he still carried his "zest" with him. I wish his family love and peace.

Even though I didn't know him as long as most people, he was a good friend. We had lots of good times hanging out the past few months. I wish your family the best.

Bob and I were close friends in high school..we shared alot of talks about life, about dreams....I will miss that mischievious smile and that warped sense of humor....Bob, you will always be with me in my thoughts.... and in my heart...

Bob and I were best friends through high school. He had a way of bringing me out of my shell and making school a lot more entertaining. I am proud to be a member of "Dirt"!
Peace to the family.

I will miss you greatly amigo!!! A lot of great times in Cali and Phoenix. I enjoyed your company, laughter, sorrows, and deep conversations about life and reality. You were a great addition to the Contreras family and you were like the older brother I never had. I will take care of your daughter Carolina always and forever as one of my own.

My condolences to all the family members. God be with all and may his light be a part of your every day lives to illuminate the path to the heavens.

It saddens me and words cannot express how deeply sorry Iam, Rob was a good person full of life and has been in and out of my sister Jody's life for over 20 years. He always said Jody made him the happiest in his life and he looked forward to when they would be together again. To all of his children, your dad loved you all. you are all in prayer, R.I.P Rob

I worked for Ams for 15 years and we had our ups and downs; but at one point we became friends. We talked about Christ, Marines, music and and movies!
He even let me borrow cd''s and he just didn''t do that. So sorry for loss.

Mr. Robert Michael Laythe you always told me that I am your son and I tell you now that I'm proud that your my dad. Even though we haven't seen each other in four years, I still feel that we meet each other every day. Even now you're right beside me and I can only help but smile dad. I hope to fulfill your dream one day. As soon as I turn 21 we will meet and drink a beer while watching Sunday night football. Hopefully the next time we meet, we can start making up all the time that was lost. I love you dad, goodnight now and always. Love, The proud son of Robert Michael Laythe

I was also a high school friend of Bob''s. I just learned of his passing and wanted to extend my condolences. Lost track of Bob after he went off to the Marine Corps and I to the Air Force. Seems we traded emails around 2000 or so when folks were planning the 20th high school reunion but we didn''t stay in touch. I enjoyed the few years that I ran around with Bob and Mike Buday in Havelock/Cherry Point.
