James " Jim" Anderson, 86, of Morehead City, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Carteret General Hospital.

The family and church will conduct a Memorial Service 10:30 am Thursday at Shepherd Of The Sea Lutheran Church with Rev. Scott Berry officiating with a reception following at the church.

Mr. Anderson was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Ogilvy Advertising in New York, and was a member of Shepherd Of The Sea Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Peggy Anderson of the home; three sons, John Robert Anderson of Port Washington, NY, Richard James Anderson of Patchogue, NY and James Gordon Anderson of Massapequa Park, NY; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephen, Amanda, Joseph, and Patricia Anne.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shepherd Of The Sea Lutheran Church, PO Box 819, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
