Myra Lee Davenport Frost, 87, of Gloucester, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017, at her home.

A memorial service for Myra will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 14, 2017, at New Hope Baptist Church, Beaufort, with Pastor Darryl W. Chadwick officiating.

Myra was born in Miami, FL, to E.J. Davenport and Mettie Mae Davenport. She graduated from Miami High School and went on to graduate from Asbury College in 1950 with a BA in Spanish, in preparation for her and Carl to go to the mission field. Myra knew her loving husband for 77 years. She was an active church member, playing piano and organ for over 40 years. She was a charter member of Hollywood Hills Alliance Church, FL, and a current member of New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to being a homemaker, Myra worked as a secretary for Railey-Milam in Miami, and at her church in Hollywood Hills. Later, she went on to work for HCJB World Radio, which took her from Florida to Colorado Springs. Myra and Carl moved back to Davie, Florida, where they enjoyed retirement by fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. In 2011, they moved to Gloucester and enjoyed going to church despite her illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be remembered for being a sweet, quiet, lady with a heart for missions.

Myra is survived by her loving husband of over 62 years, Carl A. Frost, of the home; daughter, Carol Fielder, and husband, Chris, of Gloucester; son, Dan Frost, and wife, Cindy, of High Springs, FL; sisters, Nancy Adams, of Dickson, TN, Linda Forehand, of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren, Steven Parker, of Asheville, Amy Frost, of High Springs, FL, Ben Frost, of Davie, FL, Carrie Frost, of High Springs, FL; great-grandchildren, Braelyn Frost, of High Springs, FL, and Jaxson Parker, of Asheville.

Myra was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Davenport, and grandchild, Michael Parker.
